Whether you are replacing an entire light fixture or just LED bulbs, it is always a good idea to consider what type to choose. These days, bulbs are not just about whether they are 40W or 60W, but also new data such as luminous intensity, luminous flux, or light color. Today our focus is on choosing the right color.
When deciding on the color of a light bulb, one must always consider where the bulb will be used. Bathroom? Balcony? Living room? Bedroom? Different places require different brightness.
If you look for the color of light on a light bulb package, you will find it hidden under a unitcalled Kelvin. The Kelvin scale is extensive, but in lighting we are usually interested in three numbers: 3000K, 5000K, and 7000K. The values can range from these numbers in the hundreds, so you may not necessarily see 3000K on a light bulb, but it will probably be 2700K. But what should we do next?
Warm White – 2700K~3300K
This is the classic warm yellow. This color has a temperature range comparable to sunrise or sunset. It is suitable for living rooms, children\’s rooms, bedrooms, and other places where one feels relaxed and comfortable. This shade is very suitable for sleeping rooms because it minimizes blue light, which can reduce sleep quality and disrupt the body\’s sleep biorhythms.
Daylight White – 5000K~6000K
Shades similar to classic daylight. Suitable for hallways, bathrooms, toilets, study rooms, and other places where you need to see clearly. Not dazzling and looks very natural.
Cold white – 7000K~8000K
Very crisp white to slightly blue light. Like daylight white, it can be used in hallways, bathrooms, study rooms, etc. Because of the high percentage of the blue spectrum, it is very unsuitable for bedrooms. This is because, especially when combined with white furniture and accessories, it brightens the entire space and makes it look more luxurious.
Of course, this is not the only criterion when choosing lighting.
