Music or Sports

I myself have always taken sports seriously. I could not imagine not being able to play sports. Reading books and playing sports were my greatest hobbies. I loved gymnastics in elementary school, and I even went to music school for flute and gymnastics. I was really good at flute and gymnastics. Many people kept telling me to only do one club that I enjoyed, to choose gymnastics or music school. Believe it or not, I really didn\’t have a choice. I didn\’t know whether I should study music or sports.

Gymnastika je skvělý sport.

In this case gymnastics. However, later, when my mother divorced my father and he was no longer interested in me, she did not have much money. Unfortunately, my mother told me that she couldn\’t afford to pay for both clubs anymore, that one club cost her $2,000 a month, so at most she could only pay for one club. Let me tell you, I cried most of that week. I think I was in the 5th or 6th grade at the time. Of course my mother cried too. She didn\’t want to ruin my hobbies like that, and she didn\’t want me to quit art school or music or sports clubs.

Občas dělám gymnastiku stále.

Like gymnastics. I ended up not going to art school. I stood there telling myself that with the flute I could practice repetitions at home, the flute would definitely stay with me, but gymnastics was something else. I can learn new steps and routines. Besides, I really wanted to be in the Olympics, to see what happens in 5 or 10 years. Of course, nothing changed in the meantime: two years later, I quit gymnastics because my mother found a partner and had very little time for me. My mother said she would no longer pay for gymnastics. I don\’t know if it was my mother\’s imagination or if my new partner made it up. But I was very disappointed.
